Who said elephants can’t fly?

Getting better at not “making an elephant out of a fly” (Well, British to this would say “making a mountain out of a molehill” but what do I know). Now come to think, as much as I consider myself a person who hates drama, all those tears over some stupid boy (I mean, come on, what did I exactly see in S? Uhm… Common interests, maybe, but there was nothing else) all those effing sleepless nights were such a drama, only in a different outfit.  ‘I don’t care about him anymore’ says a friend and then there follows an hour story on what a prick her ex was. ‘There is no more place for him in my heart’ and there is an endless list of browsing history indicating a late night/boring day stalking activity. And it’s okay, we all do stupid things but let’s not waste time on something so meaningless as obsessing over him or her changing their facebook status from ‘single’ to ‘taken-in-some-sort-of-way’ in just ‘ohmyfgoshhowcouldthatbastard’ 13 months 21 day and 3 hours since your break up. Yes, I know, you think you two were meant for each other. No, I don’t think you’ll ever get back together, but please, don’t make me say it.

“She’s talking ‘bout herself” you think. But unfortunately, this was brought to you not by the personal experience (or at least not the recent personal experience) of cyber-stalking or crying my eyes out for the bastard that I-so-do-not-care-anymore-about. This banter was influenced by all the preparations for two weddings and having to deal with even two bridezillas (but thank god for only one groomsman to take care of). Who gets married at 25? Yes, I know, people in love. By the way what man gets married at 38 for the first time? ‘I’ve never been married and I am proud of that’ says the 38 y.o. entrepreneur. Well, good for you. You are also either terrible in bed or terrible in life. That’s the quality to be proud of. But more about that the next time.

If you think this is a weird text, I apologize. I’ve obviously been reading too much British literature and watching too much bad Dutch soap. Not gonna change though.
